Tango movie night!

SUNDAY 19/02/23:

10 am: morning yoga session (optional)
11:30 am: brunch at the beach cafe (optional)
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: CLASS
4 pm: afternoon tea at the house
6 pm - 8 pm: CLASS
9 pm: farewell dinner at the house

MONDAY 20/02/23:

8 am - 11 am: station dropoffs
11 am: checkout

AFTERNOON ACTIVITES:

Classes have been arranged so that afternoons are free for you to make the most of the daylight! There are plenty of activities for you to enjoy, including kayaking in the sea, cycling to Christchurch Priory via the Hengistbury Ferry, walking in the New Forest or booking a massage at the nearby hotel spa!

We have a limited number of bikes and kayaks available but enough for everyone if we share :)

We will be staying together in The Lookout, a beautiful, spacious house only a few steps away from the beach.

Room types vary from a shared room with 2 single beds to private double ensuite. You can make your choice as you complete your booking.

Meals will be prepared for you, but you are welcome to use the kitchen at any time to prepare light snacks and hot drinks.

There is a large living room, dining area, TV, garden and a balcony overlooking the sea.

Prices:

Shared twin bedroom with a view on the sea and shared bathroom: £350
Private room with shared bathroom: £400
Private en-suite bedroom: £450

Deposit: £150, to be paid within 48 hours of receiving a response to the booking form.

Train

The easiest way to travel is by train (South Western Railway). Select either Hinton Admiral station (the closest) or Christchurch station (a little bit further) as your destination on thetrainline.com.

If you are travelling from London, there is a direct train from Waterloo. If you are travelling from Oxford, you will need to change at Southampton Central or Basingstoke.

We are able to pick you up from either Hinton Admiral or Christchurch station, which is a 10 minute drive to the house. We will drop you off at the station on Monday morning any time from 8 - 11 am.

There should be enough parking in the driveway for everyone, but please let us know in advance if you are driving so that we can ensure you have a space. Some people choose to car share, which is a good idea too!

Car

What should I bring?

Towels, basic toiletries (soap and shampoo), shared hair dryers will be provided.

You might like to pack a pair of slippers, trainers as well as some flat dancing shoes in addition to your heels. We have a limited number of yoga mats so if you are able to bring your own, please do. It can get windy at the seaside during the winter so bring a warm waterproof coat!

Do I need a certain experience in Tango?

A level of improver or above is required. If you are unsure of your level, please get in touch so that we can best advise you.

Do you cater to specific dietary needs?

You can let us know about your dietary requirements in the booking form and we will try our very best to accommodate that.

We will send you a menu with our substitutions which you can look at ahead of time. You are welcome to bring your own food items and use the fridge if necessary.

Is the sea cold?

The short answer is yes.

However, our courses run throughout the year, so if you don't make it in this time round you can do so the next! ;)

Partner to Dante Culcuy for many years, Veronica Veronica is a well known Argentine-born professional tango dancer. She has been dancing for over 25 years and has been teaching all over the world.

She has been finalist in the world championships several times and participated in important tango events: Tango Festivals in Moscow, Biewenmortel, Benindorm and Sofia, to name but a few.

There will be five 2-hour workshops over the three days, or a total of 10 hours of tuition. Students will be given full board and lodging, including meals and refreshments throughout the day. Optional yoga classes will take place in the mornings. Outdoor activities are arranged for the afternoons, weather permitting!
